CH 7, Australia day filmed with CyberQuad MAXI

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie… Cyber Technology, were hired to cover the events leading up to Australia day in Channel Seven's first ever broadcast “Australia by drone” production for the Sunday night program. Aired on February 3, 2013.

This great feat in UAV cinematography, is a fantastic example of the kind of results achievable with our HD CyberQuad MAXI, we spent the day soaring over Perth gathering shots of Australians enjoying all that this great country has to offer.

US Manufacturing of CyberQuad systems at Northwest UAV

Cyber Technology, a leader in UAV manufacture, has recently expanded their global presence by setting up a partnership to manufacture CyberQuad MAXI systems with Northwest UAV in Oregon. This mutual agreement will facilitate greater market penetration and sales support for CyberQuad systems across the United States.

To date, Northwest UAV's primary business has been the production of engine modules used in various air, land and sea based unmanned vehicles. CyberQuad MAXI is the first complete UAV system that Northwest have manufactured to date and they welcome the expansion to their capabilities. Cyber Technology is proud to partner with a highly professional and qualified UAV manufacturing company like Northwest to support delivering quality system and parts to US customers in a timely manner.

CyberQuad MAXI takes to the skies with Aerial surveying

With the increased use of small to medium sized UAV's in the civil sector, new applications seem to come into fruition on a daily basis. One such application that is experiencing increased interest from a diverse array of industries is Aerial Surveying with UAV's, This includes the acquisition of data for the compilation of Stockpile volume calculations, DTM, DEM, Photo Mosaic, Photomaps, and more. Aerial surveying and photo mosaic work is nothing new, however until recently it has been carried out using manned aircraft which makes the process an expensive, time consuming exercise riddled with technical requirements.

Cyber Technology has been experiencing increased demand for an easy end to end aerial surveying solution. This demand has paved the way for the Cyber Quad MAXI Digital SLR surveying package, which is capable of being quickly deployed onsite with little to no disturbance to surrounding infrastructure or operations. It then completes a pre determined, autonomous mission where it gathers photos and geo reference data for post processing. The Cyber Quad MAXI's waypoints are managed from a 12” tablet PC, not only does this allow for custom generation of waypoints and camera trigger points, but it also allows for auto waypoint generation and execution of tasks such as inward and outward panoramas.

Cyber Technology clients continue to realize the potential in providing a competitive service made possible with Cyber Technology's popular ducted quad rotor UAV, the “cyberQuad MAXI” With an array of specialty payloads and uniquely safe ducted propellors it is the ideal solution for companies such as ERP who provide a cost saving power line inspection service.

For their latest system they have opted for a secondary thermal/optical payload that can be used to supplement the existing 24MP HD payload, expanding on the scope of inspection work that they provide. ERP also opted for the new 12" waypoint navigation tablet to facilitate increased autonomy and process efficiency.

The cyberQuad MAXI and all of its operational components fit conveniently into one rugged pelican case, leaving enough room for even a second aircraft. Due to its low running cost and commercial viability even some of our clients who run smaller service operations with the cyberQuad MAXI usually find that it pays for itself in around a month.

The new payload has a balanced optical stabilization system and backlit Exmor R CMOS Sensor which improve low light clarity. This new capability has been proven particularly beneficial to infrastructure inspection customers.
